night TV, dark smoke, moving moving moving
The neighbor above, a TV purchased. A pleasant change. Previously there was not noise from that apartment. I think he meandered from room to room, finding spots son the floor to pass out on Fentanyl. My imagination runs while. But, above me is something other than sky.
More importantly, I confirmed my lease is up July 15 (one month) and I will be out of this apartment, and into Ben Nor Apartments on the other side of town. I negotiated pro rated rent, as I am on a monthly lease currently. Soon, measurements taken t new apartment - the faucet, window AC unit (well, wall unit - I can use almost any size window unit and fit to size), floor measurements (for getting rugs (laminate floors)), and other dimensional considerations.

Challenge: Write a story.
I recently discovered Tatoeba, and I think it is very interesting for learning languages.

Shavous
It's been a long time since I've missed that annual learn-a-thon/dairy extravaganza that is the Tikkun Leill before Shavous.
Shul politics had a sleeper cell of people poised to take over when our long serving rabbi moved on. We went from a once in a generation spiritual leader to an individual unqualified to hold the title Rabbi in a summer. A sleeper cell of people for whom the JCC was the height of Jewish expression and holding contempt for anything like traditional Jewish life swept in and installed their yes man. A man who will tell you to not involve yourself with our local shul is Judaism matters to you.

It's 11 PM
It's 11 PM and I find myself in the Midnight once again. Too long between visits. I made the mistake of thinking this was the void when really the void was out there all along. I'll have a glass of scotch, neat. I think I'll write here some more before the ashwagandha does what it's purported to do.
You ever made a mistake and realised it too late, but you're beating yourself up about it before anyone has even called you out on it? I wonder why we do that? It makes me feel like I'm a kid trying to hide the broken plate before my mother finds out that I dropped it. Maybe I leave some fragments over by the cat's litter box to make it look like he did it. I never owned a cat growing up. My mother hated them and now that she's getting older she pulled a 180 and is one of those crazy cat ladies that posts her cats on social media.

A brief glimpse of a specific instance of duality
I've fallen into a useful pattern of posting word jumbles/salad that either leave out or "convert to distant references that only a few will 'get'" what I really think *here* relative to what I really think in no uncertain terms in the blog, and that split mode of operation feels rather real to me for imitating the pretense of being a person amongst other persons, where the former is how you get along, and the latter is how you're shown the door.

A few words on stress testing computers
I've recently been researching stress testing for my workstation. Since I run many background services, I need it to be highly reliable, capable of running 24/7 without issues even under load.
Servers use specialized, high-quality, and redundant hardware to achieve high uptimes. While consumer parts can't match this level of reliability, we can come close by choosing high-quality components. I'll soon write an article about my workstation hardware (hint: it's a Ryzen with ECC RAM).
