I think the Microsoft person is trying to emulate Lennart P., he can be be rude at times, so the M/S person is following along. You see this in the OpenBSD mailing lists also... I think just human nature, many people will emulate a person they see as the leader of the organization they are involved with.

His name is not Alec.
