500 Days' Uptime Very Soon

READERS of the site or people who watch/ed the videos probably saw the office setup, which a summer ago included 10 screens and 6 computers. But the main two computers are "bubi" and "vonick" (animal names). Later this week their combined uptime will be 500 days:

roy@vonick:~$ uptime
 08:32:28 up 279 days, 14:17, 41 users, load average: 1.31, 0.66, 0.96

roy@bubi:~$ uptime 08:32:49 up 213 days, 23:44, 2 users, load average: 7.81, 7.47, 7.38

Those machines are not outward-facing in the SSH sense (those which are get rebooted routinely), but they are not air-gapped either. Thankfully they only have Free software installed on them, which limits the risks somewhat.

Good luck doing that with Windows...
