In the United Kingdom Google Search Rises to All-Time High, Microsoft Fell Nearly 1.5% Since the LLM Hype Began
Microsoft's LLM gamble has failed. The other day we used Cyprus and Greece to make a point, today we consider an example closer to home. Here in the United Kingdom Google now approaches 95% of the market, based on statCounter (screenshot below).
LLMs aren't a new concept, they're just a case of throwing in a lot of computational resources and ripping off other people('s work). What Microsoft did was a lasting distraction that lasted a while, causing losses and debt. Now the LLM company is in a freefall usage-wise. Microsoft is going to need actual products or it will gradually vanish from the market. █
