While GNU/Linux Adoption Has Soared in Egypt Vista 11 Stalled and Many Still Use Vista 7
The past 12 months: (notice that Vista 11 gets 'capped' at around 15% of all Windows versions)
THIS month's numbers from statCounter are bad news for Microsoft. The data shows that more than 1 in 20 Windows users is still on Vista 7 (released a decade and a half ago). It also shows that only one in about 6 users of Windows has 'upgraded' to Vista 11. 5 out of 6 have not.
Based on what we showed before, it looks like many people there move to GNU/Linux:
- Egypt: GNU/Linux Exceeds 6%, Windows Down to All-Time Low of 5%
- GNU/Linux in Egypt: From 0.1% to 6% in 15 Years
- Microsoft Windows in Egypt: From 99% to Less than 9% (Loss of 90% Market Share Since 2010)
- Windows Lost Almost 92% Market Share in Egypt
Microsoft has had many layoffs in the region because the revenue it can collect there is rapidly decreasing. █
