Considering Microsoft's Totally Fake Finances It Too is at Risk of Being Delisted From the Dow Jones Industrial Average and Other Indexes (NASDAQ, S and P) in the Near Future
Microsoft and Apple both had many layoffs this year (Microsoft had mass layoffs every month) because they're deep in debt and relatively low on "cash" (they cannot even pay back the debt, so deep cuts are necessary). No wonder Apple's CFO is leaving.
In recent days we saw 3 reports to the effect of:
This is not an exaggeration. The media keeps mentioning how many people Intel is laying off but not how many people see the writings on the wall and resign (I personally know some who did the latter at Intel). The reality at Intel has been bad for years, but they kept throwing money at the problem (in vain).
Just because the media keeps claiming some company is "worth" trillions of dollars doesn't mean it's true. The media is perpetuating myths to shore up struggling firms that are way overweight and evaluate themselves based on some potential (promises), not reality. They make themselves overweight to shoulder the visage of potency and for managers to secure some bonuses based on phony "growth". These companies are far more precarious than media wants us to believe. It's the same media that they pay for advertising and spin. It's a conflict of interest.
Just to be clear, Intel is about twice as much in debt than money it can get its hands on, e.g. by selling assets in the short term. That's how grim things are!
Now there's some news about parts of Intel folding altogether (Intel Foundry didn't work out) and this week this:
To put things in perspective, the share price of Intel at the start of the year was about 50 dollars and right now it's 19 dollars. That's how steep and fast the decline was.
Don't think this can't happen to Microsoft. It can happen very fast. They already cull the optics. They cull anything they can and it results in even worse quality (like Windows Update causing Vista 11 not to even boot!).
When your valuation depends on a Ponzi scheme like "AI" (and Windows is not selling!) you can say "the clown" all day long and rebrand things as "copilot" (it's how Microsoft is trying - and failing - to pivot to ARM), but that's just lipstick on a pig. █
"Microsoft, the world’s most valuable company, declared a profit of $4.5 billion in 1998; when the cost of options awarded that year, plus the change in the value of outstanding options, is deducted, the firm made a loss of $18 billion, according to Smithers."
