IBM (and Probably Red Hat) Layoffs Until the End of November
According to reliable press reports (whose sources are insiders), plus the occasional less reliable sites that cite these reports, IBM plans more "silent" (secret) layoffs for the coming two months (until the end of November). This means many people will be let go without being allowed to talk about it. The media might not even mention these layoffs at all.
A day ago someone asked about "(Red Hat) Upcoming Q4 Layoffs":
"Secret layoffs" were also discussed some hours ago:
I've been watching many other threads closely. One of them spoke of a man aged 55 who just had a stroke when he lost his job (that's how it sounded anyway; the causality seemed embedded).
People at IBM say they are stressed and nervous. That cannot be too good for their health. It also makes it harder to work.
There were many rumours about Red Hat a few months ago, but no announcement on the matter. That does not suggest no layoffs actually happened.
Recently, someone said that because Red Hat is no more and it's only a component of IBM we should read "IBM layoffs" also as Red Hat layoffs. Those are not two separate things. Not anymore. █
