Even in Richer Countries, Where Many People Can Afford Laptops, Windows Has Become Second to Android
The data from statCounter says that a record number (and proportion) of Net or Web users in North America are on mobile, over 50% of the whole. This month it rose to 54.4% and "desktop" (or laptop) fell to an all-time low of 43%. Therefore, it seems unsurprising that Android is becoming bigger than Windows:
Android has long been bigger than Windows in poor countries were fewer people have a "desktop" (or laptop). Recently we've seen the same in Europe and the Americas.
Android has Linux inside it. This means Linux is very ubiquitous and about half of all people use "Linux" on the client side. Most of them carry "Linux" in their pockets all day long. █
