IBM Shuffling to FOURTH Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) in 4 Years and He Comes From McKinsey, Which Advises IBM and Red Hat on Mass Layoffs!
Today's "big" press release says the new CMO "joins us from McKinsey, where he has spent the last seven years as a partner focused on growth, marketing, and sales. In this role, he has worked closely with some of our team members on various projects – so Clay is no stranger to IBM."
Why does this matter? Consider what McKinsey means to IBM and to Red Hat. Quoting Liam Proven: "Red Hat already made job cuts this time last year, although it faced union push back in France. This time, staffers told us that they fear cuts in the US."
"McKinsey don't understand development," says this top comment. "The fact McKinsey think that AI makes developers 10x more productive and will lead to developers being jobless within 5 years tells you all you need to know about their understanding of software development."
There's more on this going back to May when we responded. Right now IBM has silent mass layoffs (silencing those impacted by virtually compulsory NDAs).
Becoming CMO at IBM means an average length of service of one year:
Maybe after McKinsey advises IBM to lay off the CMO the CMO can issue a PR-centric press release about why that's great news. █
