Wintertime in Techrights
It's the middle of November today (30-day month) and we're expected to finally have "real" winter in Manchester some time next week. Perhaps it's time to set up the Pagan tree and put down the decorations from our site's 18th anniversary (we'll publish some photos from the party some time very soon).
When winter approaches we typically try to raise money for the server (hosting bills). We'll soon find out if there's a 25% fee hike like a year ago. The inflation rates for food and other commodities are quite bad; for hosting companies, including so-called Clown Computing, if they cannot achieve any real growth, then they just massively inflate the prices to fake "growth" (monetary alone) or hide the losses by altering the numbers.
Anyway, 2025 should be an exciting year for us and we look forward to spring. █
