Microsoft Canonical: Proprietary Spyware in 'Community' Clothing

Canonical abandoned its community, which made Ubuntu the most widely used distro. The abandonment happened gradually but rapidly a very long time ago, probably over a decade ago if not 1.5 decades ago.

Some years ago Canonical decided to restore the mere appearance of being run like a democracy or a community and yesterday it ran the same PR campaign [1-4] albeit when examining what Canonical actually does, it's a lot of promotion of proprietary junk. Canonical is a Microsoft reseller [5,6].

GNU boiling

Put another way, Microsoft Canonical has turned from merely supporting Microsoft AD (rebranded as "Entra ID" in clown computing due to bad reputation associated with constant security breaches and poor performance) to actively promoting it.

Is it MicroShuttleworth or MarkSoft?
