I'm the only candidate with the skills and experience to handle issues relating to Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, AirBNB and the risks of technology for your children.

Those issues have a much bigger impact on your job and housing than the immigration concerns that have captured public attention in 2024.

Daniel Pocock spoke about Facebook and Twitter while attending the UN Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland

Why vote for and promote Mr Pocock for Dublin Bay South?

(More details will be added here, please check again from time to time)

Experience in multiple countries (Ireland, UK, France, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia) and multiple business sectors (finance, technology and non-profit).

Cost of living, rogue debt collection: Mr Pocock's home was disconnected after a fire but he still received bills over €17,000. The supplier is claiming the Government Energy Credits for the disconnected, empty home while pursuing Mr Pocock in Dublin Circuit Court. Can't make this up.

June 2024: Fake news attack on Pocock's campaign for the European parliament. Pocock has now published evidence that a Google-funded group was behind the attack. Companies like Google, Facebook and X are not neutral bystanders when these fake news attacks occur. More detailed documents proving the connection to Switzerland on the blog of the Software Freedom Institute.

Paw behavior rumors?: Free Software Fellowship elected Mr Pocock as their representative in 2017. Rivals and Googlists who infiltrated the Fellowship were unable to respond to some of the ethical issues Mr Pocock raised and set about spreading smears about "paw behavior" or "harassment" with "secret" evidence. Yet wait, there really was a harassment case that went to trial and the victims were Mr Pocock's female black cats. Mr Pocock secretly recorded a courtroom in Zurich discussing his cats. Far right landlady, chairwoman of the far right seniors group, had to pay ten thousand Swiss francs to these beautiful black cats and their human servants. One cat died.

Eliminate the election posters in our streets: one of the most frequent questions people ask me in the street is "when will the posters come down?".

Education/Online safety for your kids, cover ups: In 2007, a school teacher quit his job to run a social enterprise doing open source software. Open source cabals led us down this path with so much flattery but the "payment with recognition" they promised doesn't help real families. The former school teacher became one of several victims in the Debian suicide cluster. Another engineer died on Mr Pocock's wedding day , cause of death suppressed. If the culture of big tech is not safe for school teachers, if this culture is not even safe for the engineers who make it, how can it be safe for your kids? Read about Debian Suicide Cluster.

Health and safety, mental health, children and technology: Mr Pocock has been outspoken about these issues in the field of software engineering and the impact of technology on society. Read the blog post "Google, FSFE and Child Labor" that prompted attempts to have Mr Pocock censored. Read Mr Pocock's analysis of the Debian suicide cluster. Watch Mr Pocock's appearance at the United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights in Geneva.

Trains: while some climate topics are controversial, there appears to be very broad public support for bringing back Ireland's missing trains. Mr Pocock is the only candidate who has the experience of a community campaign that saved a train in Australia. He can bring this international experience and success mentality to Ireland.

Inheritance tax reform: one of the well known candidates in the adjacent Dublin Rathdown district, Alan Shatter, has been vocal about the abolition of inheritance tax. Mr Pocock feels it is not a good idea to focus on any one tax in isolation, it is more important to have a debate about what an information-age economy looks like and how taxes should work in such an economy. Nonetheless, Mr Pocock shares some specific concerns of those in the Inheritance Tax Reform Campaign that such a tax is a blunt instrument and has various shortcomings.

Euthanasia: we need to have much broader scrutiny of the limits, risks and safeguards for assisted death. The legislation is already working its way through the Oireachtas. The perception (never confirmed) that a particular death may have been euthanasia casts new light on the way we deal with the issue as a society. Given that medically assisted suicide is only relatively new, only a few countries started to allow it, we still have only limited evidence about short term and long term side effects and the measures needed to mitigate them.

Empathy: when women in the free software movement complained, Mr Pocock listened and provided support to victims. When Mr Pocock heard about people in County Donegal losing their homes, he could empathise from his own experience.

Why an outsider? Outsiders urgently needed for Ireland's toughest problems. From the Stardust cover-up to the "war zones" in our health system to the protracted defective concrete (Mica) blocks crisis, Ireland is dogged by leadership failures. Dublin Bay South has four seats in the Dáil. Giving one of those seats to a highly experienced member of the Irish diaspora is the only way to break out of the buck-passing culture.

Ireland's PR voting system provides a unique opportunity for independent candidates like Daniel Pocock to scrutinize the work of the parties we elect in all levels of government.

In short, I want to bring practical solutions to the real problems facing this district. As one of very few professional engineers (MIEI, MIEAust) contesting the election, I'm shocked by the stories of defective construction materials leaving families homeless in various parts of the country. Given the tragedy at my own home in 2023, I hope to bring both experience and empathy.

In fact, the crisis of defective blocks in Irish homes has some remarkable similarities to the Swiss JuristGate crisis, whereby many cross-border workers and small businesses found our legal protection insurance to be worthless.

Threats against the Pocock campaign

I have already received numerous threats of defamation, physical and sexual violence. These will be documented to help the community understand the challenges of talking about inconvenient truths.

Trivia

The West Clare Hotelier was elected on my birthday. Make of that what you will. It is also the day the Berlin Wall came down.

Why on earth would anybody want to run for public office?

Research found that some of the world's largest companies have spent over $120,000 trying to censor me even before I announced my candidacy. I guess that I might have something to say that is in the public interest.
