In Star Wars, the light saber is a weapon that Jedi Knights personally construct for themselves, presumably so that the saber is uniquely adapted to their abilities, characteristics, and the nature of their connection to the Force.

Cold
The 10th was my birthday, and while I got nothing for it, I don't mind. After all, the only things I'm really wanting right now are items I probably wouldn't be getting anyway:
* K-TOR Power Box 50 pedal generator[0] * Solar power setup (Panels and battery) * Raspberry Pi 400 or 800 kit * 1-2 low power portable 15" displays (Maybe the new Raspberry Pi display?) * High-capacity SD and MicroSD cards for storage/archiving * Low-energy lighting for my space
Instead, I got one of my partners coming back home from visiting family, some answers about my foot injury (which is /still/ healing), and a day of nearly freezing tempuratures while I spent some time playing games in a /finally/ working RetroArch on my laptop. I also got myself a new water bottle, but only because the previous one turned into a melted puddle of sadness after I put tea into it that was still too hot. This one's a 64oz bottle, and I don't plan on using it for anything but ice water and flavored water.

My NAS solution and other homelab projects
When I moved back in with my parents in June, I had this machine running for a couple months. My parents, who pay the electric bill, are strict about conserving energy and saving money, so they yell at me for leaving lights on and such. (But they have their own "parent math", such that they get mad when lights are needlessly left on but they justify other expenditures that seem needless to me. But it's their money, so.) I figured having this NAS machine running 24/7 was probably contributing to a good portion of the electric bill. So I decided to buy a 4-bay external NAS hard drive enclosure that supports up to 80 TB, and connect this to my laptop to use as a NAS solution. I used this for a while until last week, when I decided to get the NAS machine I built back up and running again. I told my parents that I will pay them $50 a month toward the electric bill. They are fine with this deal.

AuraGem TV Test
I am testing my rtmp server to prepare for AuraGem TV. You can watch it via VLC, mpv, or other video player software that can play rtmp links, giving it the following link: [...]

Advent of Code 2024, Day 12
This was one of the rare days, maybe the first one this year, where my code ran bug-free and gave the correct answer right when I ran it for the first time.
-
Advent of Code 2024, Day 9
For part 1, I soon found a linear-time algorithm that simply runs through the line once, sums up the numbers along the way, and treats gaps by popping a file from the back and counting the file instead of the gap.
