Botswana: New Highs for GNU/Linux, All-Time Lows for Microsoft
May: Windows Down to All-Time Low in Botswana, Android Surges to 63%
June: Botswana: GNU/Linux Rising Closer to 3% (Windows Down to Quarter of All Web-Connected Devices)
LOOKING at this month's data, Botswana is adopting more of GNU/Linux, based on what statCounter is seeing, whereas Windows has fallen to new lows. When mobile devices are accounted for, Windows has less than a quarter of the market and that's hardly surprising given the trend below. Only about a third still access the Web from desktops or laptops there. No wonder Microsoft has so many layoffs in Africa this year. █
