Hours ago:
A day after we published this article The Register noted the same, citing the same source (statCounter). It said: "Microsoft's 2025 is off to a bad start amid statistics that show users are still giving Windows 11 a wide berth as Windows 10 continues to dominate the desktop operating system market."
As an associate has just put it: "The major distros need (MUST) begin approaching the OEMs to break the Microsoft monopoly on OEMs."
Well, Microsoft resellers like Canonical won't do that. They're too dependent on Microsoft "sweeteners" - to the point of promoting Microsoft.
Where are the competition authorities and regulators? Also bribed/infiltrated by Microsoft [1, 2, 3]? Even the courts? █
