President Biden Has Less Than a Fortnight Left to Pardon Julian Assange (Donald Trump's Regime Plotted to Assassinate Assange)
In the news in Italy: Activists invite Pope to ask Biden to pardon Julian Assange
It's not a secret that Trump's regime wanted to murder Assange while illegally spying on his guests, their whereabouts etc. throughout Trump's term. Obama didn't try to do this (he didn't even press charges, as he argued it would threaten all press). As far as we know, all Biden did in his term was, he sought a way to free Assange since about 12 months ago when he said so to the press (there was rather vague media coverage at the time).
Remember that the kidnapping and arrest of Assange was a Trump thing.
Julian Assange isn't pro-Trump. He was angry at Clinton because she had reportedly suggested killing Assange (same thing Trump would seek to do regardless).
It's easy to get caught up in polarity and assume Julian Assange is "right wing" or "left wing" or whatever. The truth is, he wanted to retrieve and publish the truth. In the early years of Wikileaks Julian Assange mostly exposed crimes of George Bush (GOP) because Bush had been in Office for over half a decade already.
Some people say Julian Assange is "crazy" for trying to release these documents and resist censorship attempts. Some people say he brought this trouble upon himself and therefore he's unworthy of sympathy or empathy.
Don't try to lecture/explain/preach to people that exposing corruption, resisting corruption, and merely covering corruption is "bad" or "pointless" because crime "is everywhere"*. Society depends on people who do those things, not all are funded by the state (or taxpayers) to serve the state's constituents and, those who are (at least in theory), tend to cover up for their bosses, not oust them. The people who earned enough trust to expose corruption (based on leakers/privileged exposure sources/whistleblowers) aren't many and attempt to censor them, water them (or their output) down, grind them down etc. tend to be "well-targeted". We saw that with Wikileaks, which hasn't quite functioned as a whistleblowers' site for a very long time, maybe 5 years if not longer. █

* A lot of those naysayers selfishly enjoy the fruits of volunteers, including combative unions or union leaders who fought for holiday pay, maternal leave, then paternal leave, and so on. People who devoted their lives (for no personal gain) to these causes tend to remain unnamed and unattributed while sociopaths like Steve Jobs hoard all the glory.
