Who Says Microsoft Is Actually Succeeding as a Business? (It's Faking a Lot)
SOMEONE told us today that Microsoft boosters (or AstroTurfing in "fan" clothing) claimed that Microsoft was making loads of money in Azure (false!*) or in XBox (also false**).
Then consider all the "HEY HI" (AI) hype*** with the recent (new year's) lies about "investment". It's losing money like crazy. Scam Altman actually admits that ChatGPT Pro is losing money, so even when people actually pay to use it, Scam Altman and Microsoft still lose money. Futurism goes into the maths ("run $200 per month"). As noted in the link above, Microsoft also loses about 200 dollars on every XBox sold (and it does not sell many). Now it tries to convince LG to "invent" some XBoxes (that aren't really!); otherwise expect XBox to just cease to exist as a hardware product.
Microsoft has been cooking the books for a long time to fake "strategic" growth. A lot of it boils down to (mis)classification and rebranding, not just falsification in bookkeeping. █
_____
* Wondering why Azure has mass layoffs several times per year every year since 2020?
** Just because Microsoft spent a large sum of money (that it didn't have; it borrowed the money) buying some company for its revenue (then laying off thousands of staff in the "asset" bought!) does not mean the transaction was profitable. Microsoft fell much deeper into debt.
*** We still think the LLMs are a passing fad, but the profiteers don't give up just yet (they'll try to keep the bubble from imploding completely as long as they can; that's what pyramid schemers do).
"The LLMs have no useful value or purpose," an associate explained. "Take a look at the money furnace called OpenAI." And "they conflate consumption with value," I said [as just like BTC] "nothing is created."
"BTC has no redeeming characteristics, only negatives," the associate said. "It's filling the air will fossil carbon, nothing more nothing less. No value. No utility. No purpose."
