Microsoft Gives Money to Trump, Poor or Even Sluggish Adoption of "Hey Hi" (AI) Reported Amid Mass Layoffs

Microsoft now uses its media moles to downplay layoffs and bribes

Microsoft media mole, spinner of news: Microsoft contributes $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund

Looking for yet another "defence" bailout?

THIS year has begun very badly for Microsoft (misleading chaff aside). The first week was spent trying to fake "demand" for "Azure" or "growth" of this vague thing, "hey hi" (AI). It's not working because now we see many dozens of press reports about Microsoft layoffs [1], as many as "Thousands" [2], and Azure will likely be impacted [3], as Microsoft relies on some lies like "AI drives clown sales" [4] (or "will take your job away"). Several Microsofters [5] are already resorting to spin with the "headcount" talking point that we saw and covered before [1, 2]. They try to make layoffs seem like they're not layoffs or merely good news, a "blessing". Microsoft talks about it to the media only through moles [6] (basically, Microsoft used its longtime mole, Jordan Novet, to spread this news and downplay it after details had been leaked to Business Insider), as it also does to put lipstick on its bribe to Donald Trump [7].

Looking a little bit deeper [8-9] into more recent articles about layoffs, analysts say that Microsoft's "hey hi" hype isn't paying off. Analysts at UBS (Switzerland) say rollouts “have been a bit slow/underwhelming.”

What will Microsoft tell shareholders? That it needs 7 trillion dollars more (in "investment", i.e. money to be lost)? The total debt is already vast.

Vole claims the layoffs target underperforming employees, including roles in its security division.A Microsoft spokesVole confirmed the layoffs but did not specify the number of affected staff members, stating, "At Microsoft, we focus on high-performance talent."

  2. Microsoft Looks To Lay Off Thousands Potentially: Reports

Microsoft is reportedly laying off less than 1 percent of employees, putting the potential number of workers let go in the thousands.

The Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant had previously told multiple news outlets the layoffs fell across the security division and other departments and are based on performance.

  8. Microsoft Confirmed “Performance-based” Layoffs Across Departments [Ed: So the "AI" vapourware is coming apart]

Meanwhile, the Microsoft 365 Copilot assistant, which draws on OpenAI technology, has yet to become pervasive in business. Analysts at UBS said in a note last month that they came away from Microsoft’s Ignite conference with the impression that Copilot rollouts “have been a bit slow/underwhelming.”

  9. Microsoft Slashes Jobs Based on Performance Amid Slow Copilot Rollout: What's Really Going On?

Microsoft, the tech giant famous for innovation and its large workforce, has confirmed it will be reducing a small percentage of jobs in different departments based on performance.

This latest layoff is not a massive reduction but may signal a change in the strategy at Microsoft as it responds to the changing demands of the tech and AI competition.
