Yesterday: Confirmed: IBM Layoffs Will Strike Consulting Quite Hard

Yesterday we spoke of IBM's "Consulting" as a target of layoffs and as something to come, but this message suggests some are complete already and some "are in progress". Although it is an unverified hearsay, given those 4-5 articles we previously published about Consulting, including verified reports from The Register, this is most likely true:

Asked manager again about Canada consulting layoffs that were supposed to be coming as of some weeks ago. Was told they are in progress, and some already done.

Usually when real layoffs are in progress this board lights up. What's going on? Could everybody have been given a fat severance in exchange for being completely quiet about it? Definitely not seeing the usual pattern.

Without Consulting, what will IBM have left? As someone put it 4 hours ago, "the US is the land of financial gimmicks (not opportunity at least for the middle class)" and another person said: "What are the Deep Blue Thought Leaders World becoming? A rubbish heap?"

Yesterday we covered the latest Bluewashing of Red Hat.

Red Hat being controlled by a frail company can lead to betrayal of Red Hat's values.
