Timeline of Microsoft's 2025 Crisis and Growing Panic

posted by Roy Schestowitz on Feb 26, 2025

Microsoft already had 3 waves of layoffs this year (not even 2 months have passed)

Microsoft Corporation (MSFT)

Here's what's happening, ICYMI:

A week ago: Microsoft layoffs in India (Microsoft's go-to contractor that looks after Microsoft's own infrastructure)

Shortly later: Labour Department investigates Microsoft Infosys amid mass layoffs

5 days ago: Microsoft Layoffs Hit Cloud Solution Architects, Customer Roles

3 days ago: Microsoft is over 100 billion dollars in debt and OpenAI projects tens of billions in losses and debt, so Scam Altman looks for money/rescue from Softbank

Also 3 days ago: Microsoft CEO Admits That AI Is Generating Basically No Value

About 31 hours ago: Microsoft plays down AI bubble, cancels data center leases

"By this measure, AI has yet to actually do a thing for the world economy."

Today: Microsoft down 10.39% in the past 30 days. It also publicly admits "AI" was mostly hype.

Also today: Microsoft explores becoming real estate company or has too much empty space after mass layoffs.

Things sure move fast once you openly admit "AI" is a bubble and quickly try shifting the hype to "quantum" vapourware, arguing it's the "Next Best/Big Thing". Rebranding servers as "cloud" didn't quite work.
