Days Ago yewtu.be Found a Workaround That Made Invidious Work Again. Then Google Broke All the Instances (Again).
A couple of days ago we said that yewtu.be began working again (owing to a workaround) and this morning we linked to many GNU/Linux videos (over yewtu.be). Now Nadeko says that Google broke not only yewtu.be but also Nadeko, which had worked for quite some time by pooling many IPs and switching between them (to evade Google blocklists).
Here's what it says right now.
A few hours ago Nadeko worked just fine. So did yewtu.be.
Then... boom.
As we said last month, "Google Seems to Have Just Killed All Instances of Invidious."
Free software advocates should quit using and uploading to YouTube. Google is making it very clear that it's hostile towards Free software users and the open Web (many browsers are not supported or barely supported or intentionally throttled down by YouTube to herd people into Chrome, which is proprietary).
If only people stopped uploading stuff to YouTube and instead used PeerTube, which has a new release. YouTube was never free video hosting; users pay for it in all sorts of hidden ways. That includes viewers. █
