McKinsey (McK) is Killing IBM, It's All About Killing This Goose, "National Sales Team 80% on PIP Now" (Preceding Layoffs Without Severance)
"National Sales team 80% on PIP Now", says this post from "3 hours ago by Anonymous" with some already agreeing in the comments:
If true, then PIPs are not based on performance (the P in the PIP acronym) at all, it's just a loophole for tossing people in the trash and blaming them for their disposal. Microsoft has reportedly done the same thing in recent months. Even earlier today we saw an article about it.
It is meanwhile noted again that IBM's current CMO [1, 2] is part of the 'demolition team" as "Clay is no stranger to IBM. Prior to McKinsey..." (quoting a comment referring to McKinsey: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)) he had done related activities. As someone there recalls: "I knew that McK had been doing "consulting work" during 2023-24, then POOF 2024 the CMO is from McK ... and I lost my marketing job at the end of 2024. Coincidence? Likely, no. It's just a great example of the kind of business IBM has become and their ruthless, cutthroat methods to increase upper management salaries, bonuses and stock options. I thought it was interesting about McK and the bar code; IBM lore is that Indian Business Machines invented the bar code --- in the Oliver piece, we find out McK was "involved" in the creation of the bar code. But innovations like that...and the hard disk drive (they call it HDD) will never again bear the IBM name. Unless they find a startup that they can buy and claim credit for the innovation. Once upon a time, IBM was honest, creative and client-focused. Now it's all about the C-suite bonuses and shareholder paybacks. It's a shame they get so much positive credit for technology innovation when we all know those days are long gone. The combination of AI and All Indians in marketing should lead to some pretty cr-ppy output going forward. Glad to free of that sword hanging over my neck."
In the past we explained how IBM hides mass layoffs in sales and marketing units. Watch these latest lies (spin, false):
IBM is good at hiding layoffs and spreading lies. █
