Microsoft is Very Highly Stressed About Adoption of GNU/Linux at Windows' Expense (on Former "Vista 10" PCs)
Windows is a bloated piece of junk Microsoft cannot properly maintain anymore
A Microsoft- and Bill Gates-connected site says that "Microsoft extends Office app support on Windows 10 to 2028" (even though they say Vista 10 will soon 'expire').
What does this tell us?
As we explained yesterday, "2025 Will be a Big Year For GNU/Linux on Desktops/Laptops" because many high-profile people and news sites 'defect' to GNU/Linux and urge "readers"/"followers"/"subscribers" to do the same. It's really quite revealing, aside from the mass layoffs at Microsoft.
The above "news" (plug) serves to suggest not only the Windows "cash cow" is at risk but also Office and the monopoly on file formats. As an associate explains, "Microsoft is that frightened of open file formats, specifically ODF (ISO 26300)" and "I suppose their fear of GNU/Linux plays a part too, if they can keep people locked into MSO [Microsoft Office], then that keeps them locked out of GNU/Linux (or for that matter FreeBSD)".
The Microsoft layoffs are far from over. This is a company circling down the drain while trying to appease shareholders in the same way IBM does. █
