Slopfarms (Machine-Generated Fake News Sites Authored by Bots With Slop Images) Spread GNU FUD
Slopfarms like these (a pair of connected sites) have burped up or coughed out these two LLM slop pieces with fake (slop) images accompanying the ridiculous word salads:
Do not be misled. Nobody wrote these. "Mayura Kathir" is at best a 'supervisor' or 'operator' of bots that make lousy images by ripping off/fusing together other people's work (without attribution whatsoever; attribution would put them at risk of copyright lawsuits*) and spew out a word salads roughly (not "fair use") plagiarising a collective of preexisting (real) news sites/pages or "training set" (to use the cruder term for real creative, journalistic, honest work).
This isn't happening only today. Slopfarms do this all the time and they typically target "Linux" (notice the images generated above). It's about googlebombing for SEO and for visibility in social control media, where a botfarm typically infests search results with cruft. Those are parasites looking to override real work with "an LLM Ouroboros of shit".
Looking closely at what CVE-2025-4802 is, that's actually from last week (so the slopfarms are days late!) and NIST says: "Untrusted LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable vulnerability in the GNU C Library version 2.27 to 2.38 allows attacker controlled loading of dynamically shared library in statically compiled setuid binaries that call dlopen (including internal dlopen calls after setlocale or calls to NSS functions such as getaddrinfo)."
This isn't about Linux (GNU doesn't run just on Linux), it does not sound particularly severe/critical, and 'Rusted' things would not be the solution.
So what will happen next? Over the next few days some distros (not just Linux distros) or operating systems will distribute a newer (fixed) version of the ubiquitous GNU C Library, the sky will not fall, and everyone except people insensitive to slopfarms will move on. █

* LLMs strip attribution and licensing partly by intention, partly by designed, and mostly because LLMs aren't design to comprehend anything and be able to tell what came from where exactly. A recipe for disaster! They tell us LLMs are "smart" or "intelligent/ce", and knowing that it boils down to mere perceptions and faith, they willingly expose us and encourage us to believe falsehoods, all in the name of holy "hey hi" (AI) and The Great Bubble. We feel worried for people who seek medical and legal advice from LLMs! In IRC, as of moments ago, psydroid argues that LLMs facilitate "legalised" theft. He says that's how low the tech industry has stooped, or whatever goes for the tech industry these days.
