IBM Has Allegedly Just Sacked Mr. McKinsey (McK), Clay Cowan, Its Fourth CMO in a Few Years
As noted here yesterday, it is expected that another major layoff/redundancy wave (disguised as "RTO" or "PIPs" or "relocation") is imminent and there's further discussion about this in recent hours. The consensus is that it's happening, albeit quietly. But meanwhile there's also news about the relatively new CMO leaving after many CMOs left before him. It's certainly starting to look like IBM doesn't know what's going on or how to retain/choose management figures. Here's the unofficial word about it:
To insiders he represented the company that's killing IBM or advising IBM on how to self-destruct. That's McKinsey (McK) [1, 2]. They try to suck what's left of the company for shareholders' benefit. The goal isn't to save the company or put it back on track. █
