IBM Goes to India, Fires People in the United States (Under the Guise of "Relocation" or Similar), Accusation of Bribery in the Company
LLM slop sites from India (some are pure slopfarms) say the IBM layoffs result in hiring "AI" (the "I" stands for India) [1, 2]
It seems we were right. "Relocation" might be the correct term. "Relocation" is when roles move from one nation to another.
Today is the day IBM is rumoured to have layoffs and some person who covers IBM quite often (critically, unlike >90% out there) is asking for information: (just to verify it's happening)
In the past 24 hours we saw many comments that say superiors at IBM engage in obvious bribery, which they call "wrongdoing" (it's actually a crime, not just some ethical breach/infraction).
Why wait so long to talk about this? Disgruntled staff? The facts and observations are always there, but people lack the incentive to blow the whistle.
There's more of this in other threads, even some in the Microsoft section (bribery at Microsoft is as natural as water; nobody ever gets punished for it! Even when hard evidence gets presented!).
IBM is a total mess and in one thread the CEO is accused of bribing the press to portray himself as a "thought leader" or similar (SUSE's CEO lost her job over fake accolades). Up until a few days ago the main site where layoffs are discussed was overwhelmed by AstroTurfers, [1, 2, 3, 4], perhaps hoping to sabotage any meaningful discussion of the facts. █
