IBM: Less Than a Month's Severance for Each Decade of Service
Yes, decade!
IBM has become such a "dumpster fire" that workers there suffer psychologically and several said lately (in public) that they want to get the boot. But what IBM would do then is put them under a "PIP", and only then boot them without paying them (or wait for them to leave).
The following comments also illuminate something we previously saw in other threads:
Notice the one at the very bottom (first comment).

This seems like a common sentiment.
I recently learned about someone who left Intel and gave notice. Intel was so stingy and manipulative that it used HR tricks to manipulate him into not getting even one month's severance. Apparently this is considered normal these days and the forums that harbour Microsoft insiders keep saying that departure conditions became so bad - even to the point of getting nothing at all.
IBM used to be a company people revered. Tech workers envied IBM workers. Now? Well, now it's something to ridicule them for. █
