Summer heat
Oh, thank god this pub got an AC, otherwise I'd be nothing but a puddle of sweat and skin now. Quite a lot of new faces around here, too.
Life couldn't be any busier right now. A new job (nothing to write home about but the pay is decent), a new routine not leaving much time to visit my favorite locations, new... well, almost everything, expect my preference for some golden ginger ale on hot days like today – that will never change.

There is no democracy in a conquered country
The song was written during reserve service in 1970. This week I returned to singing out of pain, which the Israeli public does not accept, because the solution lies only in ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state alongside the State of Israel.

The Price Of Eggs
I'm in a band of sorts. A good friend from college and I have been collaborating on songs for decades. We haven't lived in the same city for ages but that doesn't matter anymore.
Lately, it works like this: One of us sends the other a GarageBand file with, let's say, vocals, guitar and drums. The other then adds whatever they feel is needed, sometimes re-editing the song to add new parts, etc.

This remix is a Gemini exclusive. For anyone remotely interested, you can find some of our other songs including the original mix on YouTube. I'll occasionally post videos on my capsule as Alhena can play inline video (shameless plug).

"I'd never do this" sounds like a challenge
This feels like going against the spirit of Gemini in one way. We're on the small web to get away from the madness that begins with one small script and ends with megabytes of script per page. You can see why Brad said

I'd never do this.
I'm not suggesting this is a good idea but I could easily implement this in Alhena running Graal.js, Rhino or Nashorn. I'm using single ticks to represent a preformatted text block in the following gemtext example.

Maytag Repairman
I added nex protocol support to Alhena as it looked like there was some interesting content. After creating the release, I got some feedback from the author of another Java-based Gemini client. Home and End keys didn't work in Alhena. Well, they did work but only on MacOS. I appreciated the feedback; testing across multiple platforms is hard. He also suggested a keyboard shortcut to select the address bar. CTRL+L it is (COMMAND+L on MacOS).

I beat Zoe Level 3
Zoe is my Gemini 3D Tic Tac Toe game. It's apparently so hard that no one else has made the win list. The first two levels are actually easy once you realize the importance of corner and center squares. The three winners currently listed are games I played (or facilitated): A test, my regular account and a game with the Atari 2600 playing X against Zoe Level 6.
