Microsoft's August Layoffs Wave: "August is Confirmed for Additional Performance Based Cuts"
An hour ago:
Not only were the pair of very large waves of Microsoft layoffs predicted accurately by someone in the above forums. The exact dates were correctly stated (weeks in advance) and even some of the estimated total figures. Remember that Microsoft lies about those totals.
Last month we said that the same person (or persons) who made these predictions also mentioned the possibility of a third large wave, maybe in August. That possibility was entertained not by some random person.
"Bigger Round Coming in August," someone posted less than two months ago. "Very high source has confirmed. You have been warned. Sachin and SLT are shedding US jobs as fast as they can..."
There have been more since then. The subject was brought up by people who saw E-mails and memos. They tend to leak out information. Many people are unhappy
There are meanwhile more reports [1] about Microsoft looking to fill some gaps or plug some roles with low-paid imported workers (who would likely work overtime for no extra pay) and efforts to quell/silence dissent using chatbots [2,3]. █

Xbox exec suffers bout of terminal LinkedIn brain, suggests folks laid off by Microsoft use AI to 'reduce the emotional and cognitive load that comes with job loss'
History doesn't repeat itself, but it often rhymes—every so often, in times of deep economic equality, someone with a thick paycheck or accumulated wealth will waltz up and say something so mind-bogglingly disconnected from good sense and empathy that it becomes enshrined as an example of what not to say.
The latest entrant to the "Let them eat cake" hall of fame comes courtesy of Matt Turnbull, Executive Producer at Xbox Games Studio Publishing who, in a since-deleted LinkedIn post (shared here by Necrosoft's Brandon Sheffield), suggested that anyone facing anxiety about their livelihoods crumbling under them use AI to help.
