Microsoft-Sponsored Propaganda Site Has Removed False 'Hit Piece' About Dr. Stallman (With Fake and Misrepresented Imagery) But Only After 4 Years
There is a new article this week about Dr. Stallman (RMS), but it is in Portuguese:
If you can read it, go ahead. It is very detailed and contains videos, too.
Meanwhile we've noticed that a Microsoft and 'Linux' Foundation propaganda site made silent changes (it publishes spam for a fee [1, 2]! It's not really a news site and the 'Linux' Foundation boasts in its own brochures that for a fee it'll plant 'articles' there, commissioned and executed by sponsored liars, including Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols!).
See, back in 2021 it published something entitled "Why (Almost) Everyone Wants Richard Stallman Canceled". We suppose after being contacted it decided to pause, but only after other sites had reproduced the lies. That article started with this lie:
When we checked it last year the headline was still intact and it said this page was "being reviewed" (as it was false), but it still contained the image along with this headline. A year or so passed... now it is just a BLANK page at https://thenewstack.io/why-almost-everyone-wants-richard-stallman-cancelled/
So they only removed that page some time around 2025, i.e. about 4 years after it had been published. We assume that at the end they reached the conclusion that their RMS 'hit piece' was false, but why did it take 4 years? █
