The History and the Policy of the EPO's Stance on Breastfeeding (Corporate Monopolies Versus Babies' Health)
A month ago: EPO Neglecting Children to Promote American Monopolies by Shielding Them From European Competition
Keeping women far too busy (husbands' incomes no longer sufficient), then turning them into consumers, not producers (buying monopolised products from megacorporations that engage in price-fixing via patents).
Earlier this week a presentation was circulated based on a meeting which had taken place exactly a week ago. The Central Staff Committee wrote:
The Case for Introducing a Breastfeeding Policy at the EPO
Dear colleagues, We would like to invite you to an upcoming online presentation titled "The Case for Introducing a Breastfeeding Policy at the EPO".[...] The presentation will explore the need for a dedicated breastfeeding policy at the EPO, highlighting the benefits for staff wellbeing, gender equality, and workplace inclusivity. We will present findings on the expert advice, share insights from other national and international laws, and open the floor for discussion on how we can work together to encourage better support for working mothers while continuing their careers at the EPO. We are calling on you!
If you have experience of breastfeeding while working at the EPO, if you are interested in learning more about the support available for when you may need it, or if you simply want to show your support for improving the inclusivity of our workplace, we would love for you to join us. Your feedback and questions are vital to shaping a policy that truly reflects the needs of our staff. Let’s work together to create a more supportive and inclusive workplace.
A day later it was published as a presentation (14 slides) and it reached us this week as well.
The message accompanying this presentation said:
Dear Colleagues,On the 3rd July 2025, the Central Staff Committee held a presentation on “The Case for Introducing a Breastfeeding Policy at the EPO". We thank all the colleagues who joined and contributed to the fruitful discussion.
Please find the slides that were presented.
If you would like to have any information on the topic or give your feedback, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
The presentation says "mother" and doesn't entertain the "pregnant men" politics. █
