Exemplary List of Things That Are Not Artificial Intelligence or Even Intelligence
- Robotics
- All things formerly known as "smart", "IoT", and "blockchain"
- Programs that synthesise voice, turning words into audio based on vocal patterns
- Programs that emit voices and sounds based on inputs fuzzily matching what was ingested without permission
- Web sites that generate a sequences of words and sentences based on search terms, fusing together bits of text they scraped beforehand (without keeping track of the sources)
- Tools that rely on a vast library of tagged images to fuse together images and make something like a mashup
- Algorithms that spew out code segments matching some query ("prompt")
- Algorithms that spit out portions of text from Web sites they're rather not attribute or link to
- Chatbots or bots that generate racist statements - with permutation of variation - echoing/parroting their programmer/creator, along with desired biases
- Filters that interpolate or extrapolate based on surrounding (nearby) data
Lots more like that. 10 is enough to make a point. The "age of AI" or "era of AI" or "AI revolution" mostly boils down to rebranding, just like "the cloud".
