Valnet Inc. Dominates Real (Not LLM Slop) GNU/Linux Coverage in 2025
And likely in prior years, too
LLMs are polluting the Web with lots of garbage. However, that does not mean that legitimate Web sites ceased to exist. One network that produces several GNU/Linux-centric articles every day is Valnet. We mentioned it before when it went by another name. Here's one of its sites:
At the bottom it says "MUO is part of the Valnet Publishing Group". Almost all the coverage there about GNU/Linux is pro-, not "anti". The same is true for this site. "XDA is part of the Valnet Publishing Group," it says. The same in here: "How-To Geek is part of the Valnet Publishing Group [...] Copyright © 2025 Valnet Inc."
It's good to have original, authentic material about the topic. One can hope that LLMs will become a dying breed in 2025; BetaNews recognised (a few weeks ago) that becoming a slopfarm was hopeless. It rehired the people who used to run the site before it experimented with bots. Except the people who only ever polluted the site with slop. █
