Microsoft's All-Time Low in Finland
Finland is known to many folks as the home of Linux. If they think of the kernel, Linux, then yes... it is true.
Yesterday we wrote about Finland in relation to GNU and to Linux. We mentioned the parents of Linus and Nokia, which many people have long associated with the country.
"And apropos Nokia," one reader said, labeling it a wild guess, "when Microsoft killed the company, it laid a bunch of invalid software patents in the husk to ripen. The new batch of execs grew up to a litany of lies about Microsoft Elop and what he did to the company and are now likely trying to turn the invalid patents into cash by breaking EU law regarding the patenting of software and business methods."
"Nokia was such a big part of the Finnish economy that the nation still has not recovered from what Microsoft Elop did to it."
If that's of any solace, judging by the latest numbers from statCounter, Microsoft is in a freefall. █
