Last week: Microsoft Said the Mass Layoffs Were for "Investment" in "AI", But It's Also Laying Off the "AI" and "Copilot" Staff

Throughout its existence Microsoft just bought a lot of its so-called 'innovation' (Microsoft Office for example) whilst attacking rivals using lawyers, e.g. with SLAPPs and patent lawsuits (or threats thereof).

When Microsoft plans to fire almost half a thousand people in legal roles (see the report above; it's brand new), well... that's really significant. That has nothing to do with "AI" (slop does not do legal work and it gets people disbarred once caught). This is about Microsoft running too low on money with which to pay Microsoft staff a salary. It's said that many more layoffs are coming in a few weeks. █
