"The moment MSFT stock fails to start tumbling, that’s the beginning of another corporate giant going under."
Intel is in a bad place, but what about Microsoft?
Intel Corp is down about 62% in the past 5 years. Despite sagging sales, and unlike some other companies, Intel has not managed to fake its supposed "value" or "worth" (e.g. by rebranding GPUs as "hey hi" chips).
Microsoft's debt has soared, sales aren't growing and even falling in most areas, and staff is being squeezed or removed en masse. There are far more layoffs at Microsoft than at Intel, but you would not get this impression based on Wall Street media.
A few hours ago someone posted this comment:
Microsoft in business because of stock performanceMicrosoft doesn’t pay the top salary, but folks work because of name and stock performance. If RSU and ESPP don’t perform, you are withdrawing negative salary.
The moment MSFT stock fails to start tumbling, that’s the beginning of another corporate giant going under.
Take this grim fact from a 20+ years veteran.
In simple terms, Microsoft rides someone else's money: the shareholders' (e.g. someone's pension fund).
What happens when those shareholders realise Microsoft not only defrauds the shareholders but is also selling them lie or false hopes under the guise of "hey hi"? There will be no turnaround. █
"Microsoft, the world’s most valuable company, declared a profit of $4.5 billion in 1998; when the cost of options awarded that year, plus the change in the value of outstanding options, is deducted, the firm made a loss of $18 billion, according to Smithers."
