How Not to Report News About Microsoft
Microsoft sez:
32 minutes ago Rappler published the BS above. To a reader who know little about "tech" it would likely seem like 1) Microsoft is a leader in security; 2) Microsoft is so benevolent that it alerts people about security threats.
The real news is: Microsoft software is very defective, Microsoft failed to patch its very defective software, and now users of that software face catastrophe.
This pattern of misreporting is so widespread that it's hard to believe it's not intentional. Related to this is the pattern of misreporting wherein Microsoft blames the people (or nation) exploiting the huge holes in its products, offloading blame from its own incompetence, much like this days-old examples ("CALEA / CALEA2 is the Real Problem, Not Chinese Operatives Exploiting CALEA / CALEA2 (as Any Other Nation Can)").█
