For Libel Reform One Must First Bring (or Raise) Awareness to the Issues and Their Magnitude
In England and elsewhere there have long been efforts to fix laws that arguably existed for many years mostly to protect the Monarchy, plutocracy, private capital, and authorities from criticism. Those laws still exist in one form or another. Reform is resisted by the litigation microcosm.
I myself know, from personal experience [1, 2, 3], that such laws are even being weaponised by foreigners against Brits (in British courts!), the latest such example being a serial strangler from Microsoft trying to leverage British dockets to hide his behaviour and issue actual threats. He tries to strangle media in another continent! 10 days ago I sued him for doing this. I also suspect someone funds him to do this and we'll cover the evidence of this some time in the future. I intend to get compensated for what they did.
As we argued before, it is imperative that awareness is raised as British politicians are familiar with the issue and at least some of them are sympathetic. The ultimate goal is to suppress the "libel litigation industry" and foster free press. █
