"New Techrights" Soon Turns 2 (A Few Days Before the FSF Turns 40)
It'll happen about two months from now
Before we launched "new Techrights" (no PHP, no CMS of any kind anymore) we had already spent more than a year running its SSG, fixing bugs, and stress-testing it in the sister site. It started around late July or August 2022.
The FSF turns 40 and has a party on "Oct 4", with "4 decades" under its belt for the "4 freedoms" that are "4 all users" (those are "4" things with the "4" theme in them). Seeing that the FSF has a hard time coping with LLM bots, maybe it can consider going "static" and maybe making a Gemini capsule (Andy and I spoke to the FSF's founder about it several years ago).
We have a lot more to say about LLM bots and we spoke a lot about it in IRC (this weekend). We want to write lengthy articles about that, but we need to research some aspects further, e.g. whether "data brokers" exist in this scammy market and who those are. █
