LWN Has Been Down for a Long Time, Another Casualty of LLM Bots?
At the moment (and hours ago as well):
LWN has been down for a while, completely unreachable, not just utterly slow. Unless it's server maintenance gone wrong or server migration (late on Sunday) or a DNS rollover, it's difficult not to at least suspect there is - or maybe was - an attack. Only recently LWN complained about bots hammering away at it, with the alleged aim of LLM training.
Time will tell. How much time though? █
