Before the OSI Was Bribed and Hijacked by Microsoft via GitHub and Compromised Management...
"The government is not trying to destroy Microsoft, it’s simply seeking to compel Microsoft to obey the law. It’s quite revealing that Mr. Gates equates the two."
--Government official
Having just mentioned the OSI, consider how fast it collapsed. Once upon a time the OSI spoke about Microsoft corruption instead of working for Microsoft and helping Microsoft sell proprietary software in the OSI's blog.
I still remember OSI officials contacting me (for Techrights) to give me information and tips. They didn't tolerate Microsoft's behaviour.
The OSI, simply and plainly speaking, has since then been bribed and thoroughly compromised. It also resists change by attacking its own elections, undermining candidates who want to correct things at the OSI. As a reminder, the OSI lost both of its co-founders. That's how bad things became.
Only 16 years ago the OSI still mentioned the Halloween Documents (later removed!). It gave readers a clue about Bill Epsteingate, citing this report (back when the Washington Post used to cover news rather than censor news) and quoting: "A government official involved in the case said: “The government is not trying to destroy Microsoft, it’s simply seeking to compel Microsoft to obey the law. It’s quite revealing that Mr. Gates equates the two.”"
That "still refers only to "government official"," an associate has noted, "however I have a recollection (which may be incorrect) that it was the judge". "An old bit of trivia was that the 1998 case ended in the order that Microsoft be broken up into multiple companies, but Little Bush ensured that never happened."
The OSI isn't even remotely "woke"; it's just utterly corrupt. It also libels critics and attempts to deplatform them. So the OSI is as "woke" as the Soviet Union was. █
