Microsoft has had many cuts and even complete shutdowns in Africa in recent years. Western media does not write about it all that much, if at all. North Africa has some economically better off countries (compared to their neighbours to the south). One might say that's because of colonialism or colonial influence, including trade (not limited to agriculture).
In Morocco and Algeria Microsoft's grip continues to slip. █
