Lantashi on a Bookcover!
Kind of :) An artistic version of Lantashi, at least!
My friend Lee finished his book, Shadows of the Upper Peninsula!
I helped with the Lantashi scenes, and there ended up being a lot of them! Originally Lantashi was going to be a guest character, a cameo, there to add a little light-hearted flavor, with me "playing" Lantashi as I would in one of our Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.

New Living Arrangements
the worst of the moving stress has passed. My stuff is out of the old place, into the new place. Now I just need to finish unpacking and marvel at how much my life has grown that it doesn't fit into one room anymore.
This is the first time I've had a roommate since college, so about 10 years ago. We're doubled and tripled up on several house necessities - two vacuums, several copies of plates and pots and pans. Luckily, only one couch between us, so that's been easy. It's currently piled up with about seven different blankets and too many pillows, though. A three-seater that only has space for two as currently configured, as long as those two don't mind being cozy. And it is so, so cozy.

Title: Introduction to Qubes OS when you do not know what it is
Two years ago, I wrote something that was mostly a list of Qubes OS features, but this was not really helping readers to understand what is Qubes OS except it does XYZ stuff.
While Qubes OS is often tagged as a security operating system, it only offers a canvas to handling compartmentalized systems to work as a whole.

Introduction to Qubes OS when you do not know what it is
Qubes OS can appear as something weird and hard to figure for people that never used it. By this article, I would like to help other understanding what it is, and when it is useful.

photo log
I added logic to my small website generator to dynamically produce this page from exif metadata. This takes advantage of the inline image loading of a view small web browsers. So the index contains all the image text in one file and you click to load an image at a time. I wrote a little about this at the time.

Gemini Quickstart Status
I've been seeing the recent discourse about things slowing down in Geminispace, and I think that's somewhat true, though not necessarily entirely bad, if it just means that Geminispace is maturing. I want to specifically apologize for my part in this, though. I've been aware for /years/ that Gemini Quickstart is out of date, and I've been too busy or too daunted to try to fix it (partly out of awareness that if I change too much, the translations will have to be synced back up). But the fact that I get an email about once a month informing me of one thing or another that is out of date suggests to me that Gemini activity is not necessarily as low as some people may think.

Curious crypto case of certificates (CCCC)
As some of you might know, few days ago, I've made available EVIL experiments (1). Those experiments don't have any logging whatsover, but twinstar-based code running them, spits out debug and error messages to console.

* Gemini (Primer) links can be opened using Gemini software. It's like the World Wide Web but a lot lighter.
