We spend our Sunday at the Opel Zoo near Frankfurt and junior had an absolute blast there. I swear, he was running every minute we were there!
The zoo in itself is absolutely worth a visit, it has big enclosures with plenty of space for the various animals and has a really nice, family friendly atmosphere.
My "digital detox" or "smol august" is going good so far: I mostly spend time offline or getting some updates via gopher or RSS, spend time reading more paper books... so far so good. It helps a bit that i have plenty to do recently and that we finally found a way to get junior somewhat consistent to bed before 9 pm. He is now in an age where he starts to like having stories read to him, so we do that (mostly german and vietnamese fairy tales) and it works!

Embedding my currently playing song in my Bluesky description
I've been thinking about adding last.fm integration to my site for a while now, but I've never been able to fit it with the style. It's really just not a great thing for my website, because most of my online "personality" is on bsky(1), so I decided to put it on my bsky profile.

All The News Fit To Print
Alhena 5.2.5 dropped yesterday. It has support for printing (and therefore PDFs). There's optional favicon.txt support for the many sites that have them. Did I mention favicon.txt is optional?
If this is the first time you've heard of Alhena, it's a multi-platform Gemini client written in a memory safe language with features you won't find elsewhere: [...]
