Microsoft, Already Borrowing 3 Billion Dollars a Month, is Trying to Cause Many People to Resign
6 hours ago: (Microsoft's MSN)
So MSN (i.e. Microsoft) and others openly admit it. This other site speaks about the next "Nadella Genius Plan" - i.e. the next way to cull the workforce while Microsoft's media operatives repeat lies about the "headcount" and "investment in hey hi" or whatever:
Microsoft is preparing to tighten its return-to-office (RTO) policy, with a new mandate that could go into effect as early as January 2026 for employees at its Redmond, Washington headquarters. The potential shift would require most staff to be in the office at least three days per week, a departure from the more flexible arrangements introduced in 2020 that have, in practice, allowed widespread remote work. The company has not finalized the policy yet, but an announcement could come as soon as September, according to sources familiar with the discussions. Implementation timelines may vary across different Microsoft offices.
This move would bring Microsoft in closer alignment with other major tech firms that have already adopted stricter RTO guidelines. Amazon, for example, now requires in-person attendance five days a week, and AT&T has issued similar mandates. Meta and Google, on the other hand, generally require three days in the office, a model Microsoft appears to be considering.
Remember that Microsoft's RTO as an instrument of mass resignation goes years back. The company which fakes its financial status still borrows money like crazy. It laid off close to 30,000 workers in the first 7 months of 2025. It shut down many things, including Skype and various parts of XBox. Hours ago someone in Gamespot published "Xbox Is An Increasingly Unstable Platform For Anyone To Invest In" and said: "The journey that Xbox has been on over the last decade appears to be a failure. Its famous spree of purchases and the subsequent management of its studios has churned out about as many blemished games as it has delays, cancellations, and studio closures."
Yes, closures, shutdowns... anything to stop the bleeding. This is a company in a state of crisis and hours ago someone left this comment: "An age of being 55 does not factor into Satya’s plan. Your age is YOUR problem, not his. While he may be that old or older, he has more money and is the CEO, so age is not an issue for him. It’s just an issue for those that are NOT him. Any plans in motion to layoff people who just happen to be coincidentally “that age range”, will not change as again, it does not affect him. If you are waiting the corp world’s heart to soften, it won’t. I myself am 58 and all under the same scrutiny."
Microsoft is not only laying off many people; it tries to cause many people to resign; some won't be replaced by anybody, whereas some will be replaced by low-cost (low salary) people from poorer countries. This is basically what Nadella is doing right now. "Hey hi" (AI) is just his smokescreen.
The following is fake but viral (piggybacking a grain of truth): Clip From Microsoft Hyderabad Viral as One From the USA 'Filled With Indians'
This is how many workers feel about the company. Nadella, to them, represents this agenda, just like Krishna at IBM. █
