Censorship Regarding Red Hat Layoffs
Talk about this? They'd rather not.
As noted yesterday in our IRC channels (2 of them in particular), there's a campaign of censorship going on. Some particular manager is being named and moderators try to either hide the name or remove criticism.
So far nobody is denying that layoffs will come (already set to commence) in a few days; it's just that some people frame this stuff as "DEI" and then there's backlash calling out the perceived culprits.
If we see any pushback against rumours of Red Hat layoffs, we'll update or correct what we said. But so far it definitely looks like it's happening and lists of staff to be culled are apparently in circulation already.
IBM is not into Software Freedom. IBM does not like the "F" (Fedora or Freedom), it's all about money. █
