Fake 'Linux' Articles, Written by Bots to Take Traffic Away From Real Articles
Lessening the incentive to write original material
LLM slop is parasitic and harmful. It does not enhance or augment what we have. It tries to replace signal with noise. Consider the Serial Slopper trying to override various real articles about AlmaLinux and NVIDIA, using slop images and LLM slop:
This slopfarm keeps taking Phoronix articles, overriding them (SEO spam) with slop images and LLM slop, published under fake author names:
This is what Google News promotes in its results right now.
This is just an automated ripoff of this page:
On some days we see this slopfarm doing this to Phoronix as much as 5 times a day. We're quite sure Phoronix is already aware of that.
LLM slop is not innovation; it's promoted by Microsoft, which never liked actual information. LLM slop helps replace information with junk or misinformation. It is an actual attack on information, not a source of information. █
