IBM's Strategy: Cull 'Expensive' Workers, Replace Them With Cheaper Ones
Tactically speaking, IBM isn't trying to grow, as it cannot. To maintain profits (which it then spends buying companies for their revenue, hence faking revenue growth; it also borrows a lot of money to do this) it needs to cut costs, which means cutting staff.
So far we saw not even one rebuttal or challenge to the claim of Red Hat layoffs scheduled for tomorrow. That is certainly not "proof" that it's happening; however, it increases the probability of it. █
