Currys PCWorld Lied a Decade Ago, 10 Years Later It Still Effectively Voids Your Warranty for Installing GNU/Linux Despite It Being Increasingly Mainstream

This became somewhat of a mainstream media story at the time.
Today I asked two members of staff, not just one member of staff.
Asked what?
Same question. But in 2025, not 2014.
If you install GNU/Linux and then want to report a hardware fault to be looked at, you need to first remove GNU/Linux and install Windows (again).
That's just the same as what happened to me in 2014.
This means that whatever excuses, denial, or face-saving spin the company uttered in 2014 was pure BS. They're still acting like Microsoft protectors. They give customers a fear or a lack of incentive to use anything other than Windows.
Time to avoid Currys PCWorld? █
