Our Predictions Were Right: GitHub Dying as Losses Pile Up (as a Company It Cannot Continue to Exist, It's Not 'Free Hosting')
This year: All Your "Github Projects" Will be Gone One Day (Just Like Skype) | GitHub Copilot Can Cause the Bankruptcy of GitHub to Come Sooner and GitHub to be Shut Down Just Like Skype
Hours ago:
Conde Nast reports (found via Techrights IRC): "Axios reports that Microsoft isn't directly replacing Dohmke, and GitHub's leadership team will be reporting to multiple executives in the CoreAI division."
This cites Microsoft mole (for nearly 20 years already) Ina Fried, so that means Microsoft is trying to control the news/narrative by spoon-feeding it through a known, friendly, controlled operative.
This Conde Nast repory says: "Dohmke was GitHub’s second CEO under Microsoft and had occupied the position since late 2021, when former CEO Nat Friedman left the company. Dohmke had previously been GitHub’s chief product officer."
And he left why? Because of the scandal we covered [1, 2] one day before we got SLAPPed by Garrett [1, 2], later joined by a SLAPP from Friedman's best friend?
The media needs to do a better job. But the media cites a de facto Microsoft mole (Fried), which means Microsoft is controlling press coverage.
Anyway, GitHub does not have a business mode, so this outcome was predictable. GitHub always lost money. █
